Nice Merv.
I have seen this type of racing before.
It's like those Race Walkers in the Olympics ... you just wanna say RUN for Gods sake.

Hey Mervo ... the DOF is spot on m8. I like how the black area really makes you notice the Bible.

hehehe ... kind of reminds me of a couple of 'wannabys' who just want their picture in the papers and to be famous.
"Look Florence, it's me who he came to take a picture of, not you you cow !!!"

.... do I need help ?

Great composition Lucy.
Get those photoshop skills going and have a go at bringing some more detail out your daughters face as she is IMO just a tad dark.
Otherwise its a great, fun pic.

Great shot Lucy's hubby ... I love the way Lucy sent you running to catch the shot, but TBH my missus would have sent me too !!

Was on my way home tonight and there was the most fantastic rainbow ... unfortunatly I was on the busy M62 going between Leeds and Manchester and could not stop the car

I bet he is one cheeky little monkey. With a smile like that I bet he gets away with murder.
As for the shot ... nice warm evening glow, crisp and enough background info without distracting the viewer.

Well done Lucy

Hi Lucy, typical local british seaside shot and it's spot on. Like the others have said, nice colours and tone. Have you considered a slightly tighter crop... remove some of the sky and crop from the steps on the right. It may help the shot or I might be talking a load of piffle :x

Hi,

thanks

Hey Merv ... funney how making the shot B&W creates a much more angry shot.
I think I prefer the B&W shot, if only for the fact it puts across much more feeling.

I was going to say how alike they are when you posted your last pic. They could be twins !!!

Anyways ... the shot is really sweet. Love how your son looks like he is about to giggle. Nice tones and well framed. I can see this in a nice frame in your living room.

Nice 1 Lucy

Another one that makes me smile Merv.
The expression on her face says it all IMO. Love the way she is highlighted and you can almost see every hair. Well captured bud.

Hi Paul ... I was thinking the same just before I took it. I felt the opportunity was just too good to miss, and I can always get another camera when I am rich and famous

Nice bit of character grabbing yet again Merv.
I think the softer diffuse really sets the pic off nicely. Gives a more comforting feel to the shot even though the bloke is probably not too comfortable having the tattoo.

About time you uploaded this for people to see.
This shot has so much depth and feeling about it and I love it for all the wrong reasons.

Speak soon Merv

Lovely Merv ... and I dont mean you ya ugly bugger !!!
Both these shots are really well thought out.
You could try to soften them slightly to give them a more dreamy look.
There is only one tinsy-winsy bit that for me made this shot less than perfect. Why in a field full of Poppies is she holding a bunch of daiseys ?
Picky I know, but it was the first thing I noticed.

As for the shot itself - big thumbs up m8ty

I wanted to do more rolling hill shots from my visit but unfortunatly I was a little too far North and the weather was not the best.

Fantastic shot.... mean and moody.
You may want to rotate it slightly to make the first corner pillar vertical. Sometimes doing that makes it easier on the eye and can improve your shot.
The same can be said for horizontal lines (but not on this shot)
