looks like monochrome film, and gives quite an erie feel to the shot (fogginess) i hope you weren't on your own when you took this shot,

if you use a sparkler you will get the small sparks flying off aswell, it would look quite good i think

using a lasor maybe more tricky, the brighter spots you see on my shot are when the torch is pointing direct/nearly direct into the lens, a lasor is a lot stronger and maybe flood the lens with too much light, maybe use a filter or something.

very nice annie, where abouts was this shot taken, it is a good macro, nice detail. you could play with the focus a little more, see if you can define the buds even better.

There have been no adjustments made to this shot, the sun was behind/to the right on a bright day and the colour of the flowers was brought out by this fact, i like the colour of the sky against the colour of the flowers.
