Thanks Randal. Not only they were not against me taking the photo but I also heard them whispering: 'Do not move, we are being photographed!'.

It looks like your subjects were not against being photographed, though. Very nice photo, their eyes are mesmerizing.

White spot aside, this is a very good image, and well titled. Creative use of DOF focuses attention on the subject. Best wishes, Kurt

B&W are perfect here; I see that your picture is simple and beautiful (reg. to the compo) the lightening gives a softness to the atmosphere

Thank you Amanda for your warm comment! The hand is there because the sheep, a lamb in fact was frightened and was seeking protection, by that kid.

Beautiful low key image with gorgeous tones. THe texture of hte sheep's wool is fantastic. I just wish the man's hand wasn't obscuring the sheep's mouth.

It was an experiment. There are actually lenses that create this out-of-focus-effect but as I do not have one, or the means to buy one, I tried to recreate the same effect in Photoshop.

A nice image, but some of the out-of-focus areas look as if they were done in Photoshop?

thank you Naomi; most of your speculations are correct. there was no special occasion, just Sunday and she had guests.
Thank you!

Wonderful photo. Your composition allows the viewer to speculate a lot about her . . . she's older; lead a hard, but simple life; she either did the embroidery work herself, or has done similar work; and now she's dressed up for a special day. The dark object in the background is well placed to highlight her hands. Much of the power of this photo would be lost if it were in color. Great job. -- Naomi
