It has a reddish tint to the picture because of the film I used, it maybe because its expired... but when I got the photos back all of them had a dark pinkish tint. I did my best to try get rid of that, now its more of a red filter effect than a tint.

Not sure of the tone you chose; maybe B&W would better fit. Anyway, you did capture the wind motion.

"...a one shot deal." For a one shot deal, this is an excellent capture. This one goes into the favourites, well done.

It was just beginning to rain when I snapped it, unfortunately there is no burst mode on my digital and the heron was flying towards me so it was a one shot deal. Thanks for the comments

No post contrast work... however the background was desaturated, the original picture's sky was too much of a light gray... so I darkened it. Its just seemed to make the color of the balloon stand out a bit more

Nice contrast...any post- work? Normally I'm a not a fan of the centered subject composition but I think it is effective here. Good job.

This is well on the way. One characteristic of Tri-X film is its high accutance, "edge sharpness" if you like. There's grain, but local contrast in the details is high, so viewed at the right distance, the result looks VERY sharp. The tonality looks about right to me, rather like the effect I used to get with a yellow x2 filter. But the contrast and sharpness are both too low. Impressive first attempt!
