David,
Thank-you very much! Welcome back, officially!

My wife is fine, she has grown 10 cm around in the last month, and mobility isn't the best, but she's doing very well, and has a great attitude about it all! Very impressive in fact!

I'm sure you will know plenty of the events as the unfold... My camera seems to be on my shoulder at all times, ready to leap into action anymore.

Thanx again for your kind words!

Kathy,
I grew up in Sedro-Woolley (from age 1-19).

We went to church in Bellingham, I raced (road cycling) in Bellingham, and of course, went to the Colophon Cafe in Bellingham!

We moved away from Washington, around 6 years ago, and I have lived in Tennessee, Kentucky & Indiana since then.

Nothing matches the scenery and activities of Washington State, though!

I took my wife back there for our honeymoon! It was great going back. It all seemed different, maybe didn't live all up to my memories in some ways, but very much so in others. It was still a wonderful experience going back... That area will always be a big part of me.

Yea, if I actually did much macro work, the 200 f/4 would be in my bag immediately. I would just love to touch one of these lenses. I haven't seen one in real life yet. But I think anyone who uses it is addicted!

For now, it's my good ole' 75-150 f/3.5 with a 4T for macro. And even then, it's not really macro, but as close as I need for most things I do.

I dunno, Mark... If this picture was burned out in the arms, etc. from the beginning... I would venture to say that Julie did the right thing, by going with a high contrast look. Which actually makes the highlights look not so out of place... If they weren't blown out in the beginning, then Julie is just an art genius!

How was that for a Mr. Professor opinion?

Absolutely beautiful! Great selective color! Have you been studying Bjørn Rørslett's work? hehe

You better keep a close tab on your camera bag. I'm very jealous.

Amazing tones, great pose, and the selective lighting is great! A bit washed out for my taste, but still very nice and unique! Good job!
