So how long did the pooch suffer for your art?
Much personality and expression coming through. Excellent portrait. I like the way you composed/cropped this one.

Well composed, with good contrast and details. The line formed by the fence is a good lead across the image.

I quite like clapped out sheds and barns etc. they have plenty of character and a story to tell if they could. Fine shot Simon and a fine job converting it to b&w, a nice range of tones. Perfect exposure and composition as well, with the furrows leading the eye into the distance and then back to the shed.
Looks a bit cold out there!
Happy New Year

Simon, to get snow and ice white, winter pictures need to be exposed a bit longer (in stead of shorter, what one should expect). PS can help you also. regards

Greetings Simon,
Well what a beauty to add to the family,
Nice face with that star/blaze, good subject,
You have brought out the features in the horses face well, my only suggestion would be to have a bit of life light or cautch light in the eye.
best regards, Sandra

Cheers Eric - In the printed version it looks balanced ....... a tighter crop seems to make it ALL black

Handsome dog and nice job keeping detail in all that black fur. I can't decide though what I think about all that blank area above the head. My first thought was to go for a tighter crop, but I have to admit that the more I look at it the more it's growing on me as is...
