Nice shot. Closer isn't always better. This is a wonderful shot that shows the environment too. I find the green areas a bit distracting, especially the clump above its beak, because most of the image is muted browns and grays.

Superb landscape, tonal range is spot-on. Color balance is neutral - maybe I would have tried a slightly warmer color temperature because it looks like afternoon (morning ?) lighting. Just an idea

Great composition Adam! Nice dramatic sky via your wide angle. Gorgeous reflections! A little unsharp mask and slight tweeking of the contrast would raise a 6 to a 7+++
