The building leading into the fog gives the piece a lot of depth. Nice capture.

composition and lighting are first class in my opinion. i like the feeling of candidness that the picture has - "spooky" considering that this was actually shot almost fifty years ago. a great shot and a shame that it hasn't gotten any other comments.

Very nice Jerry!
I love this image! Being a bay area resident also, we just can't help but look for art in all of the people walking double fisted with plastic bags!
The composition, and crop is brilliant, and captures the sidewalk of the Embarcadero perfectly! Was there over the weekend whyen the sun was out to get some downtown images, and looking down, I didn't even wanna capture what you did! ...my OCD would have driven me INSANE!
Well done my friend!
The image (at least here on usefilm) seems to have lost information in the blacks, in that they look flashed. Possibly from Jpeg'n or sRGB conversion?
Congrats on your award from Canon! Well done!
cheers, -Joel

The interplay of background texture and the colourful solitary man makes for a captivating contrast. But I think if that is possible shifting the man either way off centre will give this image more and strong impact. Congrats on the selected winning image. Saeed
