Great macro, and the colour, detail and lusture are all just amazing.

Wonderful depth of field, lighting and use of shadows. The composition and perspective are great, and your imagination to get this shot is fantastic.

Great depth of field and clarity, maybe slight oversaturation, but good composition.

The answer is - On Monday morning it was so cold that condensation had frozen on my bedroom window. The orange morning light was catching something bright coloured in the garden which illuminated the iced window really nicely. I simply took a macro of it and edited it slightly a while later.
Good guesses, thanks for the interest.

Great clarity and composition, the lines in the water are fantastic. You've made a typo in the title though...

How fast was that bird flapping if it's wingtip is a bit blurred at 1/500 ??? Great work getting something that speedy in the frame, and what's more the majority of it very sharp.
Great job.

AH! I see, the lighting makes a lot more sense now, and highly dramatic it is. The contrast between the bluish snow and orange fire is excellent and the composition works well, though I might've cropped a little more from the top right.

Great lighting in difficult conditions. The glow of the snow is really nice and the composition spot on.

Great shot, the light and shadow, composition and colours are all really nice. By the way, what mountain actually IS it?
I am a bit envious of you living close enough to the lake district to go photographing it often.

Your comments are a real insight into the fire service - thanks! As for the photo, fantastic detail and the contrast between fire and snow is great. The effect with the heat is interesting... I must experiment with it sometime.

Nice macro, I really like the 'picture in a picture' effect. It makes the overall composition difficult to get right, but you've definitely done it. Great shot.

Great patterns, and excellent perspective. I'm getting vertigo just sitting here. The composition is really impressive as are the tones.

Woah, you post so much! The high quality makes it hard to decide what to comment on. The fantastic use of perspective in this shot caught my eye. I like the small injections of bright colour, and it's nice to see the effect without the need for desaturating with PS or similar.
Great photo.

The focus is spot on in this shot Ian, and the depth of field really brings out the flower's centre. The flower itself is covered by very few shadows which is great considering all the foliage around.
In answer to your question about lying down, no i don't. I just use the screen on the back to judge and take quite a few shots to get something right! and no i didn't use a spray - those drops were already there.

You are warmer it's definitely got something to do with glass. It's a recent photo, so bear in mind it's been quite cold.

I think the small injection of colour makes this more effective as an image as it provides a contrast which emphasises the evilness of the sky below it, without actually overpowering the rest of the sky. However I'd agree it needs a bit more, maybe you can add a bird in PS as a focal point? Nicely done anyway.

I am amazed afer browsing your portfolio, there are some brilliantly artistic images, however you've managed to put them together. Are there any photoshop tutorials you could recommend?

Fantastic use of long(ish) exposure and dark tones making the water look oily. Ironic being in saudi arabia?! The composition is also nice.
Great photo.

Lovely tones, the flower is well focussed and it's delicateness is well captured. Maybe less brightness? I don't know, I still have a lot to learn about photography.

Amazing lighting, I mean really absolutely stunning. The composition works well too and all the textures are superb. If there was a sunsets project this would be a very strong contender.
