The background is a cushion that has an animal print. It has worked out quite well.

yeah. sure have a go. I put the photo through PS (some levels and noise removal).....but I didn't have much of a go with the eyes.
please post a new shot and let me know what you have done.

Yeah....the eyes do look a bit dull....bit it is so hard to capture them ! They close so fast with camera flash....need to try more daylight shots.
This shot is bounce flash off the ceiling.....which keeps them blue (not red).... bit still not so good

That is a really nice photograph. I love storms. We don't get anything like as good thunderstorms over here in the UK unfortunately!
I bet you were saying to yourself.....get closer...get closer... then when the lightning was overhead..."errm that's close enough !"

Cheers guys. Probably not quite the best subject to test the IR filter...but I liked the effect.
Gonna pick somewhere greener for the next shoot !

Yeah I know the image should be turned and flipped, but I quite liked the sloping angle of the shadow so just left it !
