... waiting for this damned dragonfly to sit still!! Seriously, though. I've been snowed under with work lately. Still taking photos but just haven't had time to post any here. Thanks for commenting, Sam. I'll try to post some recent shots I took in Croatia and some locally, and I plan to go to the French Alps in October, so watch this space. An admirable profile of this specimen, Paul.
An interesting perspective from underneath the creature. I paraticularly like the fine wing detail, you've captured.
I took a big fella like this last week, in Italy, but he was so well camouflaged, you could barely see him!

Hi Paul,
I love the blue tone on this shot, the sky is great and the reflection on the water.
I would have maybe crop the bush on the right side, its a bit of distraction.

The cloud certainly does add to the photo doesn't it! As well as the 'motion of the ocean'. The wave breaking on the shore is magnificent. I love this picture!

Thanks for all your comments, Samantha. For this shot I had to really boost the colours in photoshop, as the stark light made everything very flat in the original. For me, though, the thing that makes this shot is the wisp of cloud above the pier. Without it the sky - and therefore the whole picture - would have been boring.
