I also have a D70.... gem of a camera. Today I updated its firmware (2005 Release). My only complain about it the moire. I guess at this price one can live with it. Most of my pictures are with Fuji S7000 which also a great camera for its price.

Thank you M. for the detailed and helpful comments. You are right about the JPEG compression - this was shot from a long way away and using a very small digital lens. I wish I had my D70 with me as I believe it would have been a much richer shot. However no crop or other PS work was done on this other than a bit of contrast. Thanks again for taking the time to comment - much appreciated.

Composition of this photograph is very good. Composing a human figure in the lower right has changed the monotony of the scene. Nice tones of blue. Emptyness of the horizon is giving a very surreal feeling to the image. IMO the image quality is not upto the mark, The image shows lots of JPEG compression artifacts or perhaps the image is a crop from a bigger image. Too much grain and artifacts are decreasing the asthetic value of the picture.

Overall a pleasing image to look at.

Kind regards.

It was a thought and you expressed it with a camera so why woudn't it be appropriate, political or otherwise? It's a great shot and I'm sorry its not mine. If you got PS go to IMAGE - ADJUST and then SELECTIVE COLOR you can get something like this.

i'm far from a PS expert, so i can't help you too much. i don't know how easy it would've been to get more exposure on the sign, and not have the snow totally blown out. wish i could help you! cheers,
todd
