John,

Long time.... I've been stationed in Beijing, China for the past 6 months... and pictures like these make me long for the Jersey Shore. You have a great eye my friend! Luckily, I will be coming home soon so I can return to my photography and other things...

I think that crop would be more powerful without the base of the pillar in the left of the frame... also a little "leveling" of the image would help as, to me, it look a little off level. I'm using the pillar in the right of the frame as my guide... I find the darkness of the pillar in the top right of the frame distracting as well....

Just a thought... you know me.. I'm all about thoughts!

Andy, I think we've spoken about this image in person... and perhaps we will again.... I think it's a great work. Both images are great, but I'd be interested to see what would happen if you crop it so that the person ends up toward the lower left part of the image... jolt it a little bit to see what it looks like... perhaps I'll play in PS a little later.

Hope you are well, my friend! Perhaps we'll hook up in Shanghai!

Andy, good to see you posting. I love the contrast of this shot with the boy and the stone... but would LOVE to see a BW version of it. Also, I think the composition is good, but as you know, I like to slide my primary subject out of the center of the frame... just a thought or two.

Oh.. and welcome to usefilm!

nice image.. but I think the trees are a little blown out. A neutral density graduated filter would have been great here! but, excellent idea!

Yanno, John it's getting so I can recognize your images before "seeing" them... which means you're developing a style... that's awesoming. I love this picture. The framing is great... and the pose is awesome.

To get a little picky I might have tried to take this picture from a lower angle. Now, this might not be possible due to background or where you were to take this picture, but a lower aspect might allow the viewer to connect more to the child.

Just a thought.
