I really like the shot & love the addition of the rotten pier. wonderfully done! excellent colors.

- I agree, however, that some water could be cropped and might add to the majesty of the city. also accentuate the angle of the pier against the vertical of the city. try cropping some of the water and see if it adds dynamism...

Amazing nightscape photo Tiffany, the detail of the buildings is just incredible and the beams of light just magical :-)

The reflections are super and the water is lovely and calm.

Excellent photo :-)

Best wishes,
Steve

The grainy effect just worked fine on this Angel but needs a bit more detail as what Karen had mentioned. But it worked better as a photo art for me. The angle of shot shows the Angel looking down joyfully. Perhaps seeing the few good people on earth.

This is your shot Tiff, your composition. No matter what "tools" you used to enhance it, it's still your art. It's simply like an empty glass. Show it to a lot of people. You will hear different & varying interpretations based on what they feel.

A good critique would always point what he/she doesn't like in the composition, what's lacking or needs improvement and better if he/she comes out with some suggestions on how to go thru with it the next time. Not just blah blah blah and drop you dead.

Go on with what you would like to shoot & compose. Continue experimenting.

Regards! - joey

Really well done, love the pattern of the water on the sidewalk, and the suspended drops were a nice surprise. I had tried a shot like this before but never came out quite as good as this. The only thing I would suggest, is to clean up the bit of a white spot lower center of image, only because it really catches attention. Other than that really well done, I love how the water gradually goes from light to dark. Well done~

I see that you also use a cybershot, for a little camera I love it~ I find this to be fairly interesting looks like reflection in a stainless steel or silver surface. Wonderful title, I love how each "ghostly" figure spreads a light above their heads, so to speak. It certainly has a dreamy quality to it~

Tiffany, definitely an interesting effect, really emphasizes the grainy feel of stone. Perhaps a bit more details would help to improve. Composition is nice.

As for the comment by Jim, if certain people don't appreciate a certain style of photography than they should move on to a style they enjoy, instead of acting immature. I could see if he had at least of added a real "constructive critique", but what he said was obviously aimed at just hurting your feelings.

Please hold his comment in disregard, and keep on experimenting~

question: whose art is it? yours? the sculptor's? or the programmer of the charcoal filter in photo editor?

lovely night shot; for the composition I would crop the bottom water a little bit, IMHO this water adds nothing to this shot when we compere to the rest of the city;
but anyway, great balanced photo;
