tanks for the comments!

this look was achieved in photoshops raw converter, since the image was taken in raw format. This was just a special blend on shadow, contrast, brightess, and saturation levels to get the desired effect. lighting is based on the basic 3-point, with the red curtin being lit with two lights shining on the curtain.

not sure y people are saying this is over exposed...looks fine on my screen. I wanted her face to have a glo look to it. Which KinoFlo's pull off nicely.

The background is the best place that we could shoot. The car was on loan from the dealer, and they didn't want us taking it too far away. this empty parking lot was the best looking nearby location.

i had already choped out the wires and poles from the background.

yea we (a friend an i) were haning out at a local bar/resturant/ air boat ride place. we were sitting ont the deck which is build higher then the docks.

That bird was flying around the place and happened to land on the dock near where we were chillin. we had our cameras for sunsets and aligators, but this guy was the only photo generic wildlife who poped up..

i cant help but keep looking at the giant hair curl on her face. I find it distracting from the gun; believe it or not.

I'm completely happy with the D 70. I"m in the process of transfering over to shotting nothing but RAW format (cost of memory cards) its so much more controlable. the lens is also great. I also have a Quantaray 28-200 which isn't bad, but images come out sharper with the nikon. i think part of the reason may as well be due to my lack of a good tripod.....

nice.

how do you make an image look so much like an illustration like that? there is lots of fine blacks and shadows in the details.

I knew this was Portland as soon as i saw the thumbnail.

Of course it helps that I'm from Maine. I went to college at then SMTC not more then a few miles away from that exact spot.
