Thanks David! Actually, I didn't need to change anything other than convert to b&w and boost the contrast. I had a black cloth behind the baby and mother!

Angela... thank you! That is exactly what I felt when I saw it... a sculpture! The mom's fingers are so elegant. I even tried to think of a title that would describe it better but could't put my finger on it. It also reminds me of a tulip! )

This little one is not quite two years old... I was amazed at how comfortable and content shs was as she was gazing out the window.

I think because there is so much background showing, it overpowers the subject. What if you tried cropping in a little tighter?
