When you said (cropping), I though you mean cutting from the image itself that’s why I said (as a shot) … but with this comment I realize what you meant by cropping in general : ) ...

Terms crop does not necessary means after processing work, some times referred to a pre arrangement shot as framing work, you can crop your desired part by zooming out or in or by moving away , to get the wanted compos work.
