Hi Joggie, thank you so very much for your reply and the detailed information included, particularly the info regarding using RAW. I very much appreciate your help! Ive just started a creative digital photography night class & am already discovering new things to help me there too. Hopefully all this newfound knowledge will begin to portray itself in my photos too!

nice lines and angles, agree with the general sentiment that this rotation creates more tension. i think its added to by the black & white too, giving it an almost sinister/cold feeling. funny how such a simple subject conjures up all these feelings!

Ive only just gone digital myself and have so far only had partial success in capturing such gorgeous colour images, do you use photoshop to enhance or is it all within your camera settings? My new camera has soooo many settings and buttons its hard to fathom ever figuring it all out! :)

thank you Michele, you are right about the crop, the print i scanned from is on a larger scale (A4) with white border and the crop seems to work well like that but once scanned and border removed as above it doesnt work as well! thank you for your critique and compliment, both much appreciated
