The photo shows lots of grain when you kick up the iso setting. Try to shot at the lowest setting possible.

Just to help you out. Check the white balance on your camera. This shot is way to blue. I had a Fuji also before my Nikon and lots of daytime shots looked to blue. Play with this setting. Very nice comp. You have a good eye....

It's time for me to help you Amanda. The photo lacks color and contrast. This is because Kodak Max 400 is garbage film. Buy yourself some Kodak pro film. It might cost a bit more but your results will be worth it. For color neg film, buy Kodak Portra 400 VC (Vivid Color). I wish you could got closer to the falls. I think the trees and distracting. The other problem that we all face is a photo that is very light and dark. The meter does not know what to do. The sky is blown out and the trees are to dark. This can't be helped. I have looked at other photos off yours and you do a nice job. I will comment on a few others. I hope this helps. We all need help once in a while. Ben

Thanks for your comments. I just purchased the Canon G2 digital camera recently from a friend and have not learned all of the settings yet. Your right though, I would have liked the background out of focus a bit more also. I will play with the manual settings more.
