Oh yea.. great work and a great caracter. the selective desaturation is done well. maybe the background, especially to the left, could be a little darker, (I think that the white jacket interfers with the main subject)

I tried it in b&w too, but I had the feeling that in b&w one important element is missing. In b&w it is not so visible how much his clothes are dirty, and this is I think an important element. Not that I enjoy the fact that his clothes are not clean, but I think it stands as proof, like nobody there to take care of him or something like that. However the color version is not full color it is a half desaturation. Here is the b&w version.
