Wonderful portrait, Mark. Very powerful and poignant. I like the mixture of pain (from the eyes), effort (those puffed up cheeks!) and joy (for music is joy, even when it isn't), all at once, all from the same pic.
Hope they can start all over again...

Another very fine portrait, Chris. You seem to have good skill with taking these ones, as they have a "formal" arrangement to them (head and shoulders, square format) yet feel so informal, relaxed and cosy.

Belo efeito com a forte coloração vermelha. A palavra cortada fica parecendo mais "moço" do que "emoção". O efeito fica até bem-humorado mas talvez fosse melhor incluir todo o sinal...
Isso é uma cena observada na rua?

I love it. This is excellent. I like the graphic simplicity of lines and tones. Not including the top half of the torso is a very powerful technique, and you used it very well. Makes it impersonal, and the message can then reach further.

This kind of post processing isn't my usual cup of tea, but I liked the arrangement and the colours you ended up with. Very interesting approach, Nancy.
The faded and low contrast look of this has enhanced the subject.

A very powerful, creative and communicative portrait, David. Beautiful work. I really like the way that they are emerging from that hedge, the kid's expression, the woman's comfortable smile.
Many may not like the dead birds, but I think without them the story would be different and perhaps incomplete.

Excellent idea, Shaliza. Nice hand positions and good colours, though ideally at least part of the picture should be in focus.

Thanks, Svend. Glad you like it.
I stood with a small battery-powered light in my hand, and used my arms to circle it around my head. Hence the motion blur...

Thank you, Judi. I was peering in from behind my wife who, for a change, actually seemed to want to be in the photo
I would have tried some other ones, but I felt my shirt being tugged by one of the young'uns, who needed to go to the toilet. So I had to do a father's duty and leave the wife doing her hobby (shopping)...

This is very beautiful and enjoyable, Peta. Excellent shallow DOF and a very nice flower specimen. Great lighting.
Perhaps the flower is missing a petal, however. The lower left of the picture seems out of step with the rest of the pic.

The position of the people in the distance adds a lot of interest to the photo.
The golden colour of the sky, particulary when reflected on the waves and sand, is absolutely lovely.

Wonderful perspective on this one, Dev. The image has a lot of depth. I love the relationships between all the different elements and image areas. I think the central placement for the couple works very well in this case.
Very well composed, in my book.
