Thanks, Andre. You'll never know until you try! I do sometimes wonder to what purpose I take all these photographs for, so it's nice to have some that actually have a reason for existing :-]

Cheers,

Jon

Excellent job Jon!
I wish I thought about doing something like this years ago for my son's rooms. Maybe I'll have to do it for my own room. I'm sure my wife wouldn't mind. :)

Thanks, Andre. I wanted to get the face much clearer than this.It would have been far easier to do two images then combined them afterward, but I had challenged myself to do it in one shot. I do like the "peeking around the corner" effect, however.

Cheers,

Jon

Hi Jon,
I was just looking through your portfolio with your bio picture in the top right corner. The family resemblance is immediately recognizable.

Good job Jon!
You most likely have a few more like this because of the nature of experimenting with lights. It would be nice to see one with a closer crop of the face. Even this one cropped to the letter O would work nicely.

a good job has done according to your about,a convincing shot you have presented, but telling you my taste for this just leave the whole shot as you present it and increase the medium gray tones of the two men and the two rocks,
my very best wishes,
Saad.

Thanks, Andre. That seems to be happening already... :-[ ... but he gets more interesting all the time, so I guess I'll just enjoy it as it comes.

He was sitting at the computer desk looking up at me. Unfortunately, there's a piece of paper down there that detracts from the image, I think. I burned it in (see attached).

Cheers,

Jeff

Very nice Jon!
Enjoy these days while you can. They go by way too fast. My little guys are now 24 and 28.

An excellent shot Jon!

Don't you just love this kind of image with the contrast of the old and new!
The Hockey Hall of Fame building in the foreground of your image is just down the street from the oldest building in the image you just commented on.
I made a mistake naming the building which I since have corrected.
Your old building is at Yonge and Front, mine is at Yonge and King.

Thank you, my friend. I very much appreciate your kind words and the sentiment behind them. While my father's death was not unexpected, we didn't really expect is just this moment, if you take my meaning. I am sorry to hear of your father as well. I suppose, however, that this is the way the system is supposed to work. We mourn our parents, our children mourn us, and life goes on.

Take care,

Jon

Thanks, Rocco. We were shooting pool in our favourite pool hall, a gritty, concrete-walled place in the basement of an old warehouse building - the building is now condos, the pool hall now underground parking :-[ - and I got him to pose for me under the table lights. Developed by me and printed by hand in my own basement :-]

Thanks, Andre. It was a bit complicated mating the foreground to the background (which I admit to having stolen), but the effect turned out well. I am printing these to mount on my son's wall as posters :-]

Thanks, Gary. My son (age 6) and I have been playing "Star Wars: Battlefront II" a fair bit lately, and recently saw the Clone Wars animated movie, hence the figurine. It amuses me that one of the characters is "Commander Cody" since of course there is a band called "Commander Cody and the Lost Planet Airmen", the music of which I am not familiar with, but the name of which I quite like and which I believe derives from a movie of the same name.
