Tony, sounds pretty scary! I agree about the tree getting mixed up in the dark line and it may have been better to somehow differentiate it although I'm not sure the overall composition would have been as harmonious.

Wow, it feels like I'm being sucked into this image, I almost feel vertigo! Great work. I think your exposure times may be back to front? 1/400 at f/6.3 and 1/100 at f/13 surely?

Great image, very strong through simplicity. The darkening top right, or at least the transition to it, looks slightly forced but the rest of the image is a beautiful collage of curves and bisecting lines.

The sunflower looks a bit 'cut-out' from the background here but it makes a strong foreground.

Nice image, reminds me of my Cap de Carteret shot! The DoF looks a little short, presumably because of the 28mm f/l which would be about 42mm-45mm with the Rebel and would put the hyperfocal distance out to a few metres. The pink in the sky's nicely done - not too overwhelming but a nice backdrop.

This one seems to extend away from the viewer forever. A clever composition, at first I thought the foreground could do with slightly more prominence but the more I look at it the less I feel it needs it. You might clone out the bit of flare in the background.

A 350D - nice prize!
No, I only entered the one round, the one with the kitchen theme. I just don't seem to get round to creating an image for each round. Next year I think I might give it a go but it's difficult fitting it in between work, cycling, running, travelling, astronomy, badminton, kayaking, fell walking and sleeping!

Nice work, I can see why the APOY judges liked it! Where'd you learn these trade secrets? Top prize will certainly claw back some points from those few still ahead of you in the competition. What's this month's start prize? I saw the last one won an EOS30V, lens and 9950 scanner which ain't bad.

Great image. The composition's perfect as far as I'm concerned. The space to the left reinforces the mad rush for the ball on the right. I might have left the sky a smidge lighter as the contrast between sky and cloud means the clouds draw a little too much attention away from the riders but it's a minor point in a great shot.

You've been busy while I was away. This a great little series. I like the stark contrast of colour on white here and the intricate details in the petals are wonderful. It would have been interesting to try different depths of field. Is this something you experimented with?

Very nice composition, the wide-angle lens's internal distortions actually add to the image giving a strong draw from the figure up to the 'exit' high above.
