Very funny story, and an excellent picture as well. It must have been difficult for an Alaskan bear like yourself, sweltering in the rainforest just north of the equator. I'd love to go, but hate that wet heat. Give me an igloo any day.

Beautiful light and colours. There´s nothing like ice and snow and the way it changes itself and the surroundings. Do you live in Alaska? What places would you recommend me seing if I should go there? I love arctic areas like Greenland and iceland, and I´ve dreamt about going to Alaska for many years.
Best wishes,
Annemette

Stuning reflection with great details, Steve.
These guys arrived 2 weeks ago to the Bay Area, however they are not as pretty as this one.
Even worst, they keep a 100 yards distance from any photographer.
When are you going to start posting again?
There are very few photographers from Alaska and I bet you have lots of great shots.
I know the beauty of Alaska can not be put into words, but maybe it can be put into pictures!!!
Take care.

Your EC's led me to this image! Absolutely incredible! A pleasure to view!

You have a very wonderful portfolio of images. I notice you have not uploaded any photos since February. What a shame! We could do with a lot more photos from a photographer of your calibre!

Cheers

Great image for the portfolio! Great DOF which gets the whole bird in focus but blurs the background.

The wedding between geometry and nature make often beautiful suns. Splendid colors and background. I take it with me in my favorites. I love flowers too Steve.
Cheers.

am truly taken by the capture of this quasi desolate landscape. impressed by the natural color and light, and feeling of openess even with those tombs present. I guess it comes down to leaving a person in the shot for scale. well done.

Wow. Steve, that's a really COOL photo. (lol.) Unreal how the snow forms into shapes. You must have some wonderful snow scenes up there. I'd like to see it sometime but I don't think I could live there. I was born and bred in the tropics. Mind you I would prefer a slightly cooler climate in summertime. Cheers, Ann.

Excellent shot Steve, I see you didnt waste any time Getting a great shot of one my favorites. I am dissapointed that our paths did not cross as I had a horrible past few weeks, I have not taken, posted or even been out shooting in that period and now its raining. I am really glad that Yamil could take time from his busy schedule to spend some with you, he is a heck of a guy! I hope you got a few more wonderful keepers such as this and had a wonderful trip........
