Very creative: reminds me of a kind of 3-D watercolour painting, wet-in-wet colour mixing on paper gives a similar but flat effect. Incidentally, we share the same name, and I also originated in Manchester, UK!

Nice try, attractive composition, but as a painter of wildlife subjects I have to take issue with the duck - it is far too large for its implied distance from the lens, but more importantly, so close to the water's edge that it would have to loose its legs to sit in the water as portrayed! Unless, of course, the beach does not shelve but drops vertically. The reeds preclude putting the duck further out, so the only way out would be to have a standing or sitting duck (!) on the sand. Worth some more work, it could be a lovely image that I'd be happy to paint. John

Nice photo, but it is an ammonite, not a trilobite or a crinoid - I have a PhD in Palaeontology! John
