It is called Exposure Value, some cameras have a dedicated button for it, some need to go into the settings, but not in Auto mode, any of the cameras setting should have it, P,M,S etc, here is a site you can look at :)

naa, i haven't worked with spot metering yet, couldn't really get it right, but i have been thinking about it lately with my new camera :), this shot was only done normal on P setting with the EV at a low end, that's how i get my lovely Sun sets and Sunrises out of my older camera, now i used Sunset mode on my new camera its a lot better, well different colors any ways:)

Well its an awesome photo!! looks like almost an HDR shot :) I love the lighting from the flash, as it mixes in whith the background and your skins, i think the color of your clothes makes it blend in nicely as well, hmmmmm for lighting wise, id give you the 7/7,actually the whole shot a 7! (bar the flash in the glasses tho) oh and great focus and close up!!! must be a great camera these Rebels, i was looking into them a wile ago but never ran with it :)

When i first saw this before i clicked on it, it looked good as i thought you had a soft effect on it, then after i clicked to goto your photo there was no soft effect, just to me the soft effect would look rather nice, but its just my view :) heres what i thought i saw ;)
