i like this shot a lot too - when I didn't want such a 'busy' background I drape a sheet or something similar behind the shot.

It is a dog. Unfortunately, this is not the roll of film (or the lighting) I would have chosen for this picture, but I was trying to use up an old roll at the time we walked by this guy. I'm sure the detail and color would have been much better had I been using Provia or some comparable film.

Thanks for the comments. It is helpful to hear what other photographers think of your images.

The angle of view is very nice. The colors too are good. Is that a dog? Pity the deatils are a bit blurry. Regards Rob.

The subject is very engaging and as I looked at it I thought that the strong psychological response could be increased by adding more depth of field to the different planes of the sculpture. This might make the viewer stop and engage each physical form with this added definition. This may be just what I want to see happen to the image, but I took a moment to try and show what I mean in case you were interested.
To go even one step further, I tried rotating the image 90? CW and that seemed to make it an even stronger composition.

Good Shot, but there seems to be a lot going on in the photo, maybe you could focus more on the lion from the right or left and get rid of the flags and bridge, the palace as a background works very nicely though
