Kevin, the colours and shapes in this picture are truly amazing. I haven't been on this site for ages and I am stunned by the amount of beautiful images from yourself and others.

Well done mate!

Excellent Kevin. I love this, it's a great pic, like the border, love the crop although I do think it's a little too dark on the right.
Other than that though, brilliant!

I disagree with the above comment. It makes me feel like I am travelling backwards on a roller coaster and the bars at the side almost seem blurred because of it. I'm not sure about the lamp posts though, it tells you which way up you are 'travelling' but I feel as though I am tilting to one side when I look at it.

Very interesting!!

It's nice to see you're getting used to your 10D! An excellent composition of an ordinary, overlooked, everyday item!

Hi Verena,

You have a unique ability to look at a scene and see it in one of your pictures in black and white. This would not have looked anything like a good photograph if it was in colour.

Well done.

I received a 'commended' (5th place) for this one.

I prefer the subtle colours of the original, there is a little too much colour saturation in yours which make it look like an orange.
Thanks for your comments and input though, they are always appreciated.

I love cats and I think that this is a really nice photo. I may have tried to do some 'housekeeping' before I took this shot by removing the blades of grass from in front of the cats face to give a clearer shot but a nice photo all the same.

Very nice Kevin, a good blend of colours. Almost looks like a painting! I occasionally have cause to work on this site so I know it very well. I remember a couple of years back when we had heavy snow and needed to get to the site urgently, it was completely cut of via the road so we had to have a trip up to it via helicopter. I wish I'd had my camera then!

Kevin, this is another wonderful shot to add to your portfolio. You really should join a club like you asked and share your knowledge as you really do take some fabulous shots.

Hi Dave, yes I like it like this also. I liked the way the light was bursting through between the bridge supports on the colour version and it looks very effective on this one also. Nice one.

I like the 'reportage' and grainy effect of this one but there is one thing which to me doesn't look right. The vertical lines are distorted and in my opinion it would look better if they were all parallel. I've tried this quickly in PS and the result is attached. I personally think this looks slightly better but each to their own!

Hi Dave, another good shot. Have you tried this as a B&W? I think it could be quite effective.

I like this photo. The grain adds to the dramatic clouds and there looks to be a face on the right side cloud edge screaming or shouting. Could be the face of the North wind blowing?

Beautiful colour on the pin sharp rocks and you've captured the movement of the sea brilliantly.

Kevin, your portfolio is superb! I'm making a point this year to get out into the county to take more photos! This one is brilliant.

A great effect with the wide-angle lens. My only criticism is the sky to the right of the boat looks a little 'burnt' but otherwise a cracking photo!
