Very interesting and one for sure, very unique, as a statue is very original, and moody too as the pose of the crying Angel hit the watcher strait to the heart...
regards!

Nice, this bike won't be ridden any time soon. Thanks for all the critiques and for giving me the info on the other band. Your right, they rock!

I too think this is the best image in your portfolio. Reminds me of a Salvador Dali painting, the bicycle not damaged but melting into its surroundings.

Mario, I think you have done quite a nice job. However, as Pablo suggests, I would add a little more contrast. Good luck in the future!

Cheers

I really love the correction you made. You use PS? I would like to apply the exact setting you did on my full definition version...

Please ;-)

Very nice composition and good exposure here. The light and expression are good. I would possibly use a gold reflector to add just a little warmth and possibly because of the age of the lady, do a little soft focus effect. I would also slightly sharpen the image Please see the attached photograph to hopefully give some idea Hope it helps.

The one real advantage digital has over film is the high iso settings which as shown here, can really save a capture. I like the low light and her mood gives a feeling of mystery. Nice capture.

Thanks for asking, i'm in a rush in my musical career ;-) I only get stage shot for now and they don't fit well in my portfolio... I'll see what I can do. You can see some of my work at this "uncompleted" website of my blues band. www.rosybluesband.com
I'm working on it, it should include mp3 by friday if I can get a moment for myself. I also try to get my own portfolio up to date by I can say it's really hard to do. You can find it at www.lartistique.com in the photo section. It contains only the composition I made with my old camera (Hp Photosmart 945). My new Canon have upgrade my photography skills and there is none of those new shots in this portfolio. Once again, I'll try to update asap.
Ciao

Hey Mario I like this capture as a new Idea, it been composed very well, the bat here is the basis of the story as it so expressive of the violence with the blood, you should to know that there are people hate to see anything's related to blood..
but I can see that you had done the right thing,, you called it "Violence" as a title, so anyone who had saw this title should to avoid looking at it when he be a sensitive man like (******)
and remember that you'll never gratify all the ppl in this world, just please welcome the good opinions and let the "nonsensers" away.
best wishes

Regardless of being a beautiful capture and very pleasure to view and looks funny to me, I think this cow was saying: what are you doing in my area dude?! or something comes out of a mad cow!
well captured Mario, regards

defintely this one and by far. Kambiz, I have to totally agree with Ron on this one. Violence is never pretty but it´s something we live with. We just can´t turn a blind eye to it. Like Ron said, all yr suggtestions are good but they´re mainstream in that every photo entered in that contest will be exactly those you suggested. This one, like I said in previous comment, really stands out from the rest and like Ron said it can be used to bring attention to a subject so difficult to address. cheers

I understand your point of view, Kabiz. And i'm happy than you took time to tell me. As a participant to a contest where every other photographer will submit
- a macro red rose flower
- a red sport car
- a red mobile phone
- a red dress/cloth on a model(female/male)
- a red lipstick
- a red ribbon
- a red book
I wish to try something different, maybe it's not constructive in a peaceful way but I find this theatrical blood in my home and tried different thing with it. I wish i could have ideas with strawberry jam instead but it's not the case.

I'll keep your comment in mind for any next composition. Note to myself: Stop reading http://www.choppingblock.org/d/20010927.html

Salutation!

Although it might be this image is just your creative idea in your mind, I feel strongly VERY offensive.
It is similar to another image of yours which you put it the night b4http://www.usefilm.com/image/1096105.html)

I can't understand why few people like you try to show violence when our societies around the world suffer from this?

I am sure you could use different subjects and concepts for the photo contest with "red" such as:

- a macro red rose flower
- a red sport car
- a red mobile phone
- a red dress/cloth on a model(female/male)
- a red lipstick
- a red ribbon
- a red book
- and million CONSTRUCTIVE RED ideaS.

I am sorry to write you my sincere feelings about your strange and dangerous idea!

Thanks to you Ron and Ignacio! I have to submit one photo to the contest today and I have to make a choice between "violence" of "tear or blood"
http://www.usefilm.com/Image.asp?ID=1096105

Which one should I submit?
