Giannis, thanks for your comment. The DOF is narrow indeed, and it doesn't give me much freedom.
I use a makeshift macro lens as described here (http://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/93060), and to get a subject in focus I have to place the camera just a couple of cms away. It's not easy to get right, I tell you!

As a matter of fact, I had another shot done without the flash, which is probably better, even though I liked the bright colours of the previous one.

I like the perspetive and the colors.
For what it's worth, my humble opinion is that the intention was very good, but there are two main problems. The first is that the focus is confusing, but I'm sure it's very hard to get it right.
The second thing is that overexposed and you can't see the details well. 1/60 was maybe too slow.

I like how the bright pink constrasts with the black background. That was a good idea.
I think it's a bit overexposed and you can't see the flower's details very well. Nice pic though.
