Looks like we grew up in the same time period. I think those days (despite the problems) were much better than today.
Thanks for sharing these memories. Also brings back some for me ~ *James*

Excellent shot Wolf (and historical as well since Pan-Am no longer exists). You dont see this perspective too often, especially today where it's almost forbidden to pull a camera out anywhere near an airplane.

Nice colours Luca. I miss taking this type of photo myself, although I do have some interesting ones from a trip that just ended that I hope to put on UF very soon.
I hope to see more of these from you soon.

You're right Alison. While I was on this old street taking photos, this girl was not pleased I was taking her photo. After this one I just left her alone. Usually the kids in China will jump in front of the camera, but sometimes not.

Hi Alison. If you dont already, try shooting the photo in RAW, then you can play with the white balance a bit. I think the colour temperature here might be adjusted somewhat (lower).
Also, how long was the exposure? Do you have any others without the sculpture?
Actually interesting that I happened upon this photo today, I will be going to Hong Kong a little later today and might shoot some photos while there...
Take care ~ James

Hi Alison, Chaozhou is a very old city, first established about 1700 years ago. The wall may have gone around the entire city at one point in time, but all thats left now is a section along the river that's a few kilometres long.
It's still in very good condition (obviously restored) though. I'll upload another photo showing part of the wall as well.

Amitava... they do taste great when warm and fresh. Which lasts for about 30-60 minutes. Then it`s like eating a brick.

Hi Amitava. Unfortunately I only spent a couple of days in Xi'an. There's lots to see and do there but I rushed myself for no good reason. Most definitely want to visit the city again and spend more time there.
These images are fine but would love to get there with my D200 and shoot them in RAW, the improvement would be substantial I think.
Thanks for the comment ~ James

hi john. the image itself is good i think. i think you could improve it slightly by adjusting the brightness/contrast. increase contrast +5-8, decrease brightness by an equal amount maybe.
in fact, i just tried this (attached below), also used smart sharpen and saturated a little bit. I also noted two dark spots in the sky just right of centre (eliminated in my attachment). maybe your sensor needs cleaning as well.

rice is one thing thailand has a large abundance of. i learned last year that thailand is the worlds largest rice exporter, even china buys hundreds of thousands of tons of thai rice annually.
as for the photo, nice. len, i think you should put together a composite photo of the planting, growth and harvest of the rice.
take care len ~ james

Hi Amitava... that's just river debris I think (if birds nests, those would be very large birds). The water level varies between seasons and that junk clustered around the bridge supports is just leftover from when the water was higher.
I thought of trying to clone it out but it seemed like too much work.
Thanks for the comment, as always.
