Michelle the flower image you commented on the background is a Chihuly glass sculpture and there is no PS manipulation. Thank you for your comment and I know what the problem is with the stem of the flower and I can correct it. Look forward to seeing more of your fine work.

this is quite interesting and very well executed..part of me wants to see the couple in similiar tones as the background but then again it adds quite the dof.
good job

Well, I agree with what has been said about the converging verticals. Maybe if you'd be willing to forego the colours, you could make a B&W negative copy of the slide and correct the perspective distortion by tilting the paper underneath the enlarger. Although the loss of colour information would de-emphasise the stained glass which you say had attracted you, I think the beautiful ornamental work of the door would still make it a worthwhile B&W print.
One thing I would suggest if you find yourself in a similar situation in the future (i.e. no chair to step up on nor a tilt-shift lense in your bag) is to try to step back from the subject - the perspective distortion should hopefully decrease with increasing distance - and crop the image later to get the close-up you like. (That is assuming that slide film is not your exclusive choice of medium.)

Yes, a chair would have been convenient. I like how you enhanced the bronze work--mine was very flat in comparison. But I think the stained glass image of the deceased adds to the composition--without it, I wouldn't have bothered with the photograph in the first place. I do wish that i had increased the depth of field, however.

Ahhh this is my sort of thing... wandering around Paris, and seeing something that catches my eye... I would suggest to step on that chair behind you, to avoid the quasi upward perspective result, then PS out the interior colours... and try to gain some more of the bronze reflective qualities... and then add much more negative space all around...
here is a quick minute fiddle following some of the above

Richard, if I was on any pilgrimage it was to see Modigliani and Oscar Wilde. ;-) Jim certainly had the most visitors though. Unfortunately some of them left annoying grafiti throughout the rest of the cemetery with arrows pointing towards his grave. Other than that, I found Pere Lachaise a wonderous place--full of history, beauty, mystery and....some of the most interesting-looking people I've ever encountered.
