Okay- I took 10 sec and burned out the date stamp and the other distracting highlights for you...what do you think?

Well? It is great. SO metaphoric and spooky and abstract. In this case the blow out at the top of the image only adds to the mystery....as if to say 'go towards the light!"....I might like to see this image with a very small (hairline) black frame around the image. Just to confine the image and further accentuate the linear aspects.....very nice work.

Very well done. So difficult to capture the non-chalant look of a cocker-especially with those dark eyes-great pet portrait.

I am not sure why this image was EC....yes it is nice and unusual, but I just don't find anything unique in the photographers approach, aside from the location. I usually SO NICE in my comments, but this was really glaring at me...I supposse I will have to check out this photogs portfolio to see if there is more to see....

Max- this is a strong image, beautiful lighting- nice 'high key' effect (I don't know really what that term means- but that sorta bright look is what I mean)....she is a stunning model, with excellent make-up job.....BUT (and this is such a personal opinion only) I would have liked her to be looking at the camera- I love the pose, like she is in deep thought and thinking and all...but I would have loved to get the feeling the camera was disrupting all that- and she looks up just as the camera clicks. Gives me more story. Keep going- I would enjoy more to look at in your portfolio....Marcy

Beautiful for so many reasons. The subjects, the smiles, the composition, the contrast betwwen the rough surroundings and their smooth skin and happy manner. Not to even mention the perfect exposure and lighting...........great

Stefan- Thank you for your kind words. BUT- you are very right. The boy's outline is too obvious. This is a classic case (oh, and I have many) when I have rushed to post an image at the end of a long work process- I should have waited and viewed the work for several more days, and made minor corrections/adjustments etc.....I was so excited by this work-I couldn't wait to see what everyone thought!! Perhaps if I had waited I could have made Editors Choice!!!!!

This photo intrigues me. I am boggled as to where the actual focus is.....and yet I love it. Very 'Holga" feeling....and very vintage too.....you have taken a nice image of an interesting subject matter- and have turned it into art. Bravo.

There isn't an actual 'tutorial' for this treatment- it is a multitude of PS effects- but no 'pre-made' filters or actions. It is two images, combined. Burning with 3-4 different dry brushes, and erasing at 10% areas to pop them etc....took about 4 hours to do.....but what a fun way to spend 4 hours!!! Thanks for the compliments- and comments- they mean the world to me!

To Paolo- all it takes is one great comment like yours to make my day! I too- felt this was one of my better images- and was surprised it was 'passed over'....but I find the clearer an image can be seen in the thumbnail-the fewer hits it gets! My dark and burned images get tons of hits- since people have to see it big just to see what is going on!!!! Thanks again for your generous compliments!Marcy
