In real ( on paper ) the left side is not that dark. Also with a black background the light is better. I choosed that ( dark ) light to give the pictute more "mystery".

I think it is a very nice picture, but i think there is something "strange" with the eyes. Is it "photoshopped" ? am I missing the brightness in her eyes ? or the point where the eyes are looking to ?
I just don't know. However. VERY NICE PORTRAIT.
