I adore this style. What is the most prominent to me in this work is the amazing texture of all elements - the pot, the apples and the surface they are on.
It is perfect as is. Nonetheless I cannot help me not to think of ways to make it even better. If this were mine, I would experiment with different tonalities, would try to hide the curtain in the background to make it more mysterious, and would try a very-very mild softness (dust and scratches) effect.
Should you experiment with any of those ideas, I would be glad to hear from you.
