A truly alien broccoli! I also have done some shots of it... and it tastes great too... shame in only seems to be available around october/november.
Nice shot Anna.
By the way cesira... suggesting I'm 'robbing' Anna's picture is highly offending.

strong image. Love the strong contrast, and the sharpness of the shot, really like the composition, as hugo said is all that big blue space that makes this image work.

great shot, amazing lighting, the closed eyes work for me, creates a different mood, more calm than the usual fashion picture

Hi Janet, thanks for your comment
The lens, Pancolar Carl Zeiss 50mm is a really old lens, but with supreme quality, everything is manual, but with the tubes is the only way to do it. The combination is a great macro lens (as you see, and is not a detail - ok I did square the image - but the detail up close is incredible, see attach)
I bought the lens with screw mount for around $30, the extension tubes with screw too $8, and a adapter for screw mount to EOS $15.
You will need a tripod, as camera shke is a no, no, but definetly good fun!! - and cheap. If you want more info/help just drop me a mail!

What a beautiful photo. Lovely and warming tones/lighting. The espression on the woman in great, a moment of reflection.
Also bring childhood memories of Spain... to me that is...

excellent composition, architecture and wideangle is my favourite combination, nothing like those distorted lines nad increased hights... I once did read somewhere that fisheye lenses are only used time to time, and you get tired quickly of them, well i haven't and shots like this one remind me why.
...The only thing that slightly 'annoys' me, is the shadow in the decking, as it divides the image vertically in two, if the decking wasn't with the shadow both sides will marry better. Small detail though, great photo.
Merry Christmas Hugo, and Happy Photographic New Year to all!

thanks Hugo, your comments are appreciated. Is been long since I fancied a industrial feel in my photos, looking for the desolated image, but give some life to it.
This last November was freezing cold with bright blues skies, so i though to myself - "perfect day to freeze my hands while taking some photos" - got there at the best time of the day, lucky me, for once I took a long series of pictures I was pleased with, all in one outing! - next time walk to the thames barrier...

left side... perfect.
Right side... a bit more ps needed. You composed this in PS, it showns, sorry to be blunt. Changing the levels on the ground to match the lighting overall, and taking care of those cropped clouds/sand will help.

Absolutely amazing, love it, to my fav.
That sky is something else, and the composition is great! Compared to your other tide/post prespectives you have, I love this one, has lots more constrast, hence the dramatic feel.
I what a print of this!

WOW, looks so impressive, more like italy than britain... Wrong! Britain has some stunning landscape too, why travel to Tuscany when is in our doorstep!
Er... have you used PS for this sky, somehow looks wrong in the horizon.
Regards,
Derek

beautiful result, nice presentation - isolating the one flower and only really brings impact upon us, plus we're able to appreciate the beauty of this flower.

What could we improve in this image?
Well, I think you have a excellent picture, but maybe I would try to bring back some of the colour of the green leafs around (foreground tips and fading back, maybe just around 35%), just so the blend looked more natural, not a harsh change from B/W to colour. Just a suggestion on play, as I think it already works as it is.

A even closer look to your wisk study. Really like it too, but I think it works nicely next to the other one, as a standalone would be so impactful IMO.
brilliant work
