This is a very moody shot that does take us back in time. I find it very attractive and very evocative. Your comments explain how you created the mood. Nicely done. A classic kind of photo.

Excellent subject, but I think this would be improved if there were more contrast, more detail in the shaded areas. Perhaps this could be adjusted by using the "curves" tool in PS. But I really like the subject and the way what seems to be the morning sun illuminates sthe faces.
