Nice shot and colors. But I think it is a little to dark at the left side of the trees and it looks fuzzy on both side of the edged.

But a nice shot it is :-D

I'm now very happy with the 2400. Getting prints that match my monitor. Will e-mail you off-line.

Cheers John

Oh OK I wondered too about the marks in the sky and thought another layer in there at bugger all opacity... so u r happy with the 2400?? Good to hear ..I am still no further advanced with mine ended up completing the prints for the family album on the office printer, that is our office at home as opposed to my 2400 in the studio...its a crappy HP2110 fax, copier, printer, coffee/tea maker, washing machine, personal gym, combo and I printed everything on Ilford Classic Pearl pps and str8 out of the gun they are bloody awesome... mind you during the process I came across some prints I made ages ago on the 1270 and they too were dark which is my problem with the 2400 mind u the 2400 still just seems dull...so I think (fear) my brain may be the thing in need of adjustment.. no seriously I dont know.. I need to put in some serious work on calibrating the monitor to the printer.. juts too much of a tightwad to lash out on the Gretag Macbeth tools...

Thanks Jason. No those 'marks' are not dirt on the sensor. This is a blend of two images used to give an aged cracked varnish feel. The textures do not show up well at the small jpeg sizes this site allows. Regards John

Lovely shot John - the only thing that bothers me is those 'marks' in the sky - look like dirty sensor marks, althought I'm sure they're not

Happy New Year Tim. This is an old picture I revisited and quite like the feel I achieved. Just upgraded my printer to an Epson R2400. The A3 print from this file on watercolour paper is magnificent. The detail in the shadow area in the lower right hand side is amazing and the blacks are so deep you could swim in them. At long last true B&W inkjet prints.

Regards John

Very nice, John. I like the rembrandtian feel of this, the warmth, contrast, and blur. The composition seems not as strong as your usual but I like the image, and especially the creative direction it suggests.

Ilike the gentle arch framing this young one, and also its lighter pattern standing out. Nicely seen, John.

Thanks David, for your comments. No this was taken through the very scratched window. Had to remove the blue of the perspex to get the colours back to how I remember them. I was surprised how good this shot turned out. Regards John

Very beautiful scenary!!
Excellent composition!!perfect light, splendid colour, tones, magnificent the contrast obtained from the bushes and the light that illuminates them, gives prominence to the dof, the depth of field is arrogant!!
Suggestive the atmosphere!!
Congrats

Beautiful, subtle light in this one John.
Spent four weeks driving around the south island about ten years ago, before hollywood discovered it, and still rave about the place to friends to this day.
