I like your DOF. B&W is not easy for flower pictures, but this is very nice. And the little fly on the flower is a nice bonus!

Hi Roger,
Actually I already had a similar image of this Anthurium (the angle is a bit digfferent) in sepia.
And yes, I do know Mapplethorpe's flowers. I have the book with the same name. Although I must say I prefer the work of Harold Feinstein: a bit softer in his lighting.

Beautiful landscape, Adam! I love the composition an colours. Where in NZ was it taken? The rock on the left reminds me of Cathedral Cove.

Dankjewel, Pim! In portretten van mensen ben ik nog maar een beginner. Ik zou het wel wat meer willen doen, maar de tijd ontbreekt meestal. Voor mijn werk doe ik veel product fotografie (meestal saai!), maar in mijn vrije werk heb ik me vooral gespecialiseerd in bloemen (maar dan op een eigen manier).

I remember this one. Liked it then. Went to look in your portfolio but the other version isn't there anymore. Would have liked to see what's different! :-)
One minor thing (I'm still a terrible nit-picker, also to myself btw): it's too bad that her right foot (actually HER left foot) is in the shadow.

Very nice natural portrait with good light.
Have you considered a square crop? I find the tree a bit distracting. A square crop makes it even more intimate, I think.
