twin cities - I like the darkness - not sure about the texture...

can't decide if the layers make her look consumed or broken...but I do know that I like the left hand side and how it fades out...not only the edge but the cloudiness on that side of the frame...

Jeanette,

Someday when I no longer have small children - I can step away from digital and play in dark rooms and chemicals...I envy you...

Excellent angle - it was seen just right so that the head bleeds off into the building - the individual mind consumed by the corporate? There are so many possibilities in this series...

I am jealous - this is what I want to accomplish with snow and never quite seem to get right - need to jot down your settings as a reference point...

the glasses and the book look good but I am not sure about the camera - it doesn't seem to be hanging quite right - still this is a very funny, very pointed comment...

Your work is definitely stamped by you - this one feels as if he needs to be moved beyond a stone prison...

btw funny you asked about a polaroid transfer - haven't got my hands on a polaroid for doing transfers yet and this was my digital answer to the problem - printed it out on fabric transfer paper (for putting pictures on t-shirts etc) and then transferred it to some paper I made!!

Tim the siding almost seems over smoothed - it is not necessarily bad if you intend it - I am working on a series where I unsharpen and smooth for effect but it is noticeable and I don't know if you intended it...the cat is a wonderful vivid orange and he definitely adds a bit of a smile to the scene...

John,

First of all, I like the title - your nature/landscapes almost always speak of quietness and peace to me...in this image, the title is especially apt as it signifies the muffled sensation fog gives the world. Good sense of space and movement...

Tim,

I am not sure but this wetland looks frozen...I also think you live relatively near to me...get any snow last night?

I like the somewhat blank foreground and how as we move into the distance, the stumps get denser and lead us on...

Hugo,

I've been looking at this for awhile and it is a welter of detail...which given your parameters is excellent...while you may not intend art - it is well-composed and so the tree nipping into the left-hand margin of the frame is distracting because it makes us wonder what is beyond the rubble...just something to think about...

Tim,

I apologize for not leaving a greater comment on some of your florals yesterday - I was way behind on my friends and wanted to at least look at nearly everything...I was impressed that the effect was achieved without ps and am interested in how it was achieved because to do it without PS always seems more honest even though I will always debate the reality of a photo even if shot head on - we filter - never doubt it - how we compose an image is a filter...

anyhow...if you are interested in sharing your homemade job and how it was created let me know...

since I have never done any IR photography, I can't say much but I do feel this lacks something that I've seen in IR that I like perhaps it is a lack of clarity and of course a great sky is always wonderful in IR...I am afraid this comment wasn't helpful either...

I think it is such a silly debate - it is all about what you see and how you show us - it isn't about reality - we might as will go to Aristotle and start debating...

this seems more of man and less of something organic - somehow the previous two images seemed to convey a sense of the organic inspite of their source - this one however, simply seems manmade - this is not fault of yours - in the sense that they are manmade - somehow though the others spoke to me differently...I am not explaining myself well, am I?

yes, I am sure it was very small...did you crush any snails when you lay on your belly to take this? Did you shirt and pants get wet and muddy?
