Charles, thanks for the kind words. I use a Tamron 180mm macro lens. It really is a superb optic, for about half the price of a comparable Nikkor or Canon lens.

Paul, you captured her very well. Yes, the animal instinct will always be there and she might be "thinking" of the African planes - but ... rather have her in safe captivity than killed for her coat. Though I hate seeing animals in a zoo, mankind and his lust to hunt for trophies has forced the authorities to protect for future generations.

i love the colors of the background. i know i know, not like you had to run out and FIND this color... looks great. do you have any closer shots of the flys face, like the fangs one? (i'm still thinking about that one!)
