Gorgeous saturated colours. I love the delicacy of the subject and the composition. It's simple and elegant. Don't change a thing. Good work!

lovely and fresh and very seasonal-nice presentation with the bit sticking out! thanx for your comprehensive comment. I followed your advice as much as I could - the lack of magenta cast in the snow is definetely an improvement. have a look!

Was this taken on the same day as the windmills as I know it's just next to them. Again I like the border and monochrome effect. I think this would also look good in monochrome with a bit of grain.

Great photo with a great border which really sets it off. The sky is a lovely colour blue but the foreground is a little dark. Looks better on here than the Digiclub site.

I think you could tickle this award winning bridge a bit more in Photoshop.

The dragonfly technique is as much to do with the camera's abilty to close focus as my ability to sneak up quietly. Being able to put the camera close to the subject without my head behind it is really important. Time of day is important also, best when they are warming up in the morning.

Hi Michaelle,

Thank you for your kind comments. Yes the shot was handheld as I had gone without my tripod, and when I saw the results I was quite disappointed, but, nothing ventured, nothing gained as they say, so I did a crop of the image as I thought the (plenty of imagination here) lights could look like stars and the bridge a gate - hence "stargate"

The Bridge is the Gateshead Millennium Bridge across the River Tyne in the north east of England near to where I live, more shots of this bridge to come...

The exposure on this is great, but it looks to me as if it was either hand held or not on a very sturdy tripod. The shake in the longer exposure is very evident. I love the idea of the bridge and wish that you would have focused more on it in your composition. I looked through your portfolio and you have many lovely images... looking forward to your next post.

I think the composition is fantastic, and I love the way you made a part of it hang outside! A very tasteful and wonderful shot! I find the lightning a little bit hard though on top right side, and it's like if you have got a little bit to much green in the colour tones.

Very nice, clear and sharp capture with wonderful lightning! I love the deep yellow colour of the flower, and the afterwork with the framing looks very nice too!
