Yeah Jerome this one is alot better I think. The colours seem nicer and more pleasing for some reason, and the whole thing just looks better. Good one.

Thanks a lot for the comments. Andrew, no need to apologize this type of input is exactly what I wish I'd get more often - not that I'd not rather take perfect picture but I think it's a great way to get there.
You guys are completely right about the horizon. I had several shots of this image and I picked the wrong one by mistake when I uploaded it. I've tried to replace the picture but I don't think usefilm lets you do that. I've attached the better image to this message. The horizon is straighter on this one. Colors are nicer too I think.
The comment about the DOF is very relevant. This camera is pretty old and hadn't been cleaned then. Only one speed (1/250th) was consistently working ok :-) Hence the DOF. Ok, that's not an excuse.

The horizon bothers me as well... that's the first rule... always check that horizon, because I swear that it moves when you aren't looking!!! I like the soft pastel colours of sky, sand, sea... a vey peaceful image.

Jerome, firstly I like the composition with the trunk in the foreground the beach and horizon in the BG. There are a few things that I think you could have improved, and I tell you as someone who wants to help, not being smart. The horizon is tilted to the left (something I often do), but you can correct this in PS, etc. There is also some darkening of the image on the right hand side. I don't quite know what this is due to. I don't know if you had a tripod was available but if it was you should have used a smaller aperture for longre depth of field, as you cannot see the BG in focus, which would have looked better.I think since the colours are not that saturated I would also try this image in B&W with more contrast. Maybe it would work. Good luck!

Good colors but not a great depth of field!

The suggestion Sandra made really improved the image. Nonetheless, this is a very nice capture with nice detail particularly toward the lower half of the icicle. Good eye and keep up the good work.

Sandra - Thanks a lot for your comment! I think what your are suggesting definitely makes sense. This is very useful. I made the few corrections on PS and it does improve the picture nicely.

Nice blue sky and ice formation. There are a few things I might suggest. Remove the tree since it is not fully showing and is a distraction. Also I may crop off the top of this photo where is starts to really blur and turn white. nice.
