Greg, Recently read the book Confederates in the Attic. An interesting read that includes the author's time with and as a reenactors. Great shot! The three stripper in profile must be eating eveyone else's hardtack! Dave

Paul, Let me start by saying I really like this shot. The only suggestion would to have her move her left foot to the edge of the corner thereby not losing it in the shadow. Hope all is well, good luck in the new year. Dave

Thanks Greg. I have a whole series of blues performers in B&W. I like the way they turn out and can be displayed together, giving the set cohesion. I thank you again for your encouragement. Cheers, Dave

Greg, I would like to see him again, really enjoyed his music. You are right, he rocks! I finally posted a shot, but have many more to post when I have time. Especially a great on of Buddy Guy. Thanks for the nudge to post. Dave

Paul, This is really nice. A great model posed well. I like how her left leg parallels the seat back and her right leg the drape of her dress. The shadows are great, too. Really well executed. Dave

I thought the other one never left Mississippi. But as one of my Mississippi raised uncles said, "the south will rise again!" Keep working on the "real and continuing south," I really enjoy your pics.

Great shot and great lighting. The Rendezvous is on my bucket list. I used to go to Memphis as a kid but alas have not been in 30+ years, gonna have to make a point of it soon.

Ah yes, tofu on the hoof. The farmers had a hard time around here getting the beans in due to frequent rains. I'm not sure all was harvested before the recent 20" snow. I love the dust cloud and the way the combine driver seems to be leaning forward at the same angle as the windshield.

Kelly, Thank you very much for your kind comments. This is acutally just a candid/grab shot from across an outdoor restaurant. There was a canvas overhead that provided the perfect lighting. Strangely her mother did not seem to like the image a whole lot. I guess because the girl is not smiling. Thanks you for noticing. Dave

Paul, This is another great shot. I agree with others, great model, angle of the body, etc. But to me what really sets it off is her hair. It was perfectly managed and timed. Dave

Greg, This is great. I think the inclusion of the truck in the frame is what makes this shot. Leaving the truck out would lose the sense of direction out of town. Dave

Ernie, Ferrocement is basically cement over a chicken wire frame. It is a old backyard building method used for boats. It just has that look with the hard chine and rough surface. Dave
