I think it's perfect that he's squinting in the sun - shows that it's an authentic Sun Coast photo! Great shot.

Beautiful. The few elements and sort of extreme composition create an exquisite tension. I think the duotone (if that is the right expression) works very well.

Hi Ian,

Thank you for the comment. The comment saying the site was ignored was a mistake, left over from a cut and paste. Sorry about that. The site gets 4000 hits a month, we are more than happy!

Dana, the lines, textures, tone, shadows, composition, are all excellent, the wall makes a sumptious pallete but it's the timing and perspective which makes this shot extraordinary. There is certainly no little skill and patience involved in getting this just right. I especially like how the trailing foot of the man is in motion. I some see evidence of oversharpening (haloing around some edges) but that's hard to avoid when compressing such a contrasty image and I bet the original slide looks fantastic. Not sure why your site has been largely ignored, but there are so many out there, the presentation of the site is simple and concentrates on the photos which are superb and I'm sure attention will come perhaps through exhibiting prints which will show the qualities of these photos to best effect. Ian
