This appears to be an interesting stone wall. At first glance the photo looks a bit busy and my eye jumps all over with no where to settle. But that may have been your intention. Using oppposite primary colors is a designers trick to get people to view a magazine layout longer because it takes longer to understand. This does not seem to work very well with thumbnails, as only so very little is visible. This certainly has had me looking at it for a while. Interesting find and composition.

Looks like an excellent place to find some good scenic shots.

I like the colors and composition. I wish the photo was larger, so I could see it better.

Nice one Tracy. Good faded out background and good detail and color in the crocus. You did a very carefull job on the extra blurring.

A very well earned Featured Donor award. Congratulations.

Really nice perspectives on the dock. The tiny boat in the background emphasizes the deep depth of field. Lovely reflections in the foreground

Congrats on the EC.

There is a lot of bright light on the canola field that does not appear to be coming from the cloudy sky. There is a lot of noise in the sky that does not exist on the rest of the landscape. I wonder why there are no cloud shadows over the land. I think the green and yellow colors have been highly saturated. It all just looks a bit unreal to me... rather like a kids coloring book.

Is this the spire of the Cathedral? The inclusion of the apartments on the left really detracts from the scene, sorry to say. Plus the light stand and the bush are hiding most of the view. Wonder why you shot it this way?

Congrats on Staff Choice of your photo.

I wonder where this land of chaos is.. with its leaning telephone poles. Just another moving day, I guess.

I could wish for a little more interest in the sky, but you shoot what's there, I guess. I want more contrast added... with photoshop... horrors!

Thanks for all the recent comments, Roby.

I have not had time to see your portfolio recently, sorry. I have been away.

Nice capture of the 'moment'.

I see white lines around the sitting man's face and a few other spots. I wonder if it has been sharpened a bit too much or if my new monitor is playing havoc with my view of these oldies but goodies.

I am so tempted to put words in the large yellow spot in the upper right. Would be fun to know what he is thinking, with that expression and his eyes permanently rolled up. )

This treatment does give it the old fashioned Time magazine appearance. Interesting how it takes one back to the less stressful times, although the girl facing us looks anything but less stressed. Wish they had been having a tall glass with a milkshake instead of the cans and bags. There is something just a bit jarring about the fast food and the dressed up girls. Knowing you, that was intentional. Great capture. I kinda like it without the treatment though, too.
I see your Usefilm on you very cool page. )

Congratulations on the well deserved BIP.

Yes, I saw the information on the polarizer (usually a good idea for landscapes on sunny days, I think) and the warming filter. Yes Velvia I have seen, but did not recognize the Kodak E100VS -- gorgeous stuff.
Scanners.. I am in the process of researching to purchase a new one to go with my new system soon (I hope). My old scanner is very very bad and it takes a lot of tweaking on anything, so I have not scanned very many of mine in yet.
You have done a masterfull job of getting this 'in camera'. Your whole portfolio shows talent and an eye for the artistic in every upload.

Wow!!! Incredible colors. It was worth being in the water for this one.
At f 16 that swift river must have been rolling along pretty good. This froze it.
I love the colors and composition. Have to add it to my favourites to look back on to see how you got these vibrant colors. I can get colors like that with my little digital Canon, sometimes, but I have yet to learn how to do it with my Elan. The 35mm is so much more fun to use because I have to actually think. )

Good portrait of the Captain. I like how the focus is on one eye and the rest fades out just a bit into the shallow DOF.

There is a lot of mystery in this lovely portrait. The three dark round objects... her eyes and her ring really make this photo for me. The out of focus foreground with the focus on her eyes is just perfect to create the effect of mystery.

There does seem to be specks on the black.. I would bet it is your scanner. I removed some of those specks on my recent uploads (scanned from prints) by using the 'despeckle' and the 'salt and pepper filter' in my Paintshop Pro 7. That filter does wonders. Some people have used a program called Helcion or Neat Image to take out the noise.
Are you doing your own developing now, too? Or have you always been?

This is a rather telling portrait of the lady. When looking at this I can imagine being back in the Norman Rockwell days. The colors are outstanding. It really is like a painting... that's why I thought of Norman Rockwell, I believe.
This has nothing to do with your photography, except maybe composition.. but I wish she was not standing under that ummmm what is it? A quilt? She keeps pets and quilts and does all the crafty things?
Marvelous stuff!

Nice detail in the feathers and excellent light. Its difficult to expose correctly for white birds.

I need a good telephoto, but sure do not want to pay the $3000.00 for EF 28 - 300. This looks like a good solution. The extender has worked very nicely.

Excellent macro of this beautifull creature. Now is you could have a slightly more shallow DOF (blurr the background) you will have a photo much like a 'Mark Plonsky' shot.

The light is what makes this one, I think. It looked like just another abstract of water drops..ho hum... until I opened the thumbnail. It just leaps off the page. Good eye for the capture of the light.

I really like this one. The sculpture does, indeed, seem to be trying to hide from the light. I like how your choice of DOF has made the light appear to be sparkling and bright.

Nice candid portrait of the dog. Terrific sharpness and good light. Just the right 'portrait' DOF. ) Were you using the portrait shooting mode?
Love my Elan 7e. As soon as I get my scanner upgrade I will be more active on 'Use FILM'.

Thanks for showing us this lovely place.

I see a bridge in there and want to walk over to the railing and get a close up of that bridge. )
The architecture is terrific.
