The lake is the 'Altwarmbuechener See' located NorthEast from Hannover. It's only 5min from my home and that's the reason I take so much lakephotos ;-)

@Boris yes - that is one point I don't like in this photo - the difference between swan and sun is a little too big. It would be better when I changed my position to the right, but I laid on the wet sand in my motorbike clothes and that wasn't easy for this short moment. I'm still working with this swan, because I've an image in mind, which needs to be shot...don't know when this will happen ;-)

@Richard, I've also noticed the blue color of the swan - it comes from the sky above. With my new lightsetup (I'm nearly every day there ... I like the swan .. and maybe he likes me a little and not only the brownbread ;-), the swan becomes white and there is no blue area in the feather. I could remove it with Photoshop, but ... well... I like the effect: "A cool Swan" ;-)

I used the buildin flash from the D60. Today I did some shoots with three flashes (thats perfect light and works very well ;-) But I must wait for another nice sunrise and the swan should come into a nice position - it's 'nearly' wildlife - no park, just a lake with some weekend traffic.

The Novoflex RetroAdapter for EOS can be found here: http://www.novoflex.de/english/html/co_ema.htm
and what's possible may be seen here (sorry only in german - its my page ;-) It shows the whole viewable image from the D60 as thumb (think on the 1.6x factor against analog bodies) and a 800x600 part (red) of it without any rework (except JPEG-compression) http://www.anju.de/fototechnik/objektive/novoflexeosretro.h tml

Thank you fro the comments. To balance the exposure isn't so hard - just open the shutter and flash one time. The hardest thing is to get nice looking smoke ;-)
On this image it's a pitty that I've used ISO800 - I'm now using ISO100 and 200 - it looks much better.

Thanx for your comment. I've around 500 photos from this tree with every view you like ;-) This photo was taken yesterday at 7:12h (one hour till sunrise) at the river Aller between Winsen and Schwarmstedt. I prefer this location, because there is no traffic, no citylight (for tree with stars) and there are many big birds like swans, 'Reiher' etc.
Gruss aus Hannover Andreas
