Thanks Jim. Yes, it was Photoshop. Quite simple. Add a stroke to a desaturated duplicate layer, then a rectangular mask over the left half of the image and the warp tool to draw the effect from the top right corner of the mask. Then similar for the right hand side, warp from the centre down to the top left corner.

Paul - Really nice composition. Lighting really brings out the features of the statue. Different from the football here in Texas....but certainly a sport requiring toughness!
