Under these conditions there wasn't much of a difference. I thought they would look cool in B&W but you can only tell the difference if there is a color back ground. I have some more playing in PS to do.

I went through some 14 pages and had to stop here. I have a Nikon D100 and am still learning to use it and Photoshop 7.0. This is a great shot and very inspiring. Thanks.

Nice image but I would add just a thin line of white to the border to allow the shot to stand out more. I like the debth in this shot.

Your work is impressive. I took a look at your other images and they are captivating. Your trees are haunting. A testimony to the powerful forces of Mother Nature. Keep up the good work. deb :-)

This is a great shot! I would like to see more of your work. I like the darken background, it gives him a more menecing feel. You could almost tell he is just waiting for the right moment. Glad to see another Orlando photographer. Come visit us at www.cflphotoclub.com

These birds are actually less than 5ft from the fence. The red colors just jump out at you. I was about 4ft away and with my zoom almost completely extended. I did not use a tripod here but instead leaned on the fence. These little guys like to move around a lot so capturing one this close was not easy. I actually shot off about 6 or 8 shots. Most of them blurred in one area of the body or another. This one just jumps out at you. I would have liked to had his legs in focus as well. Thank you all for the comments they are helping me improve my craft. I go back and re-think my shots and how I might do them differently the next time. This site is awesome!

This is a very compelling image. I would redo the boarders though. Perhaps make the white smaller and make the black larger. It should add focus to the image and intensify the tones. Other than that I would not touch a thing. I think this is a very good shot.

Thank you both! Yes, I did print this one myself. Your suggestion is a great idea. I guess I will be back in the dark room to work on this one. I love this shot. The man was very meek and I was very grateful he did not mind me taking his picture. I will have to post it again after I have worked on the contrast. I do so appreciate all the good advise this web site has to offer.

John, You are correct. This is water from the water spouts at Epcot. I live in Orlando and lucky me, hubby works for the Mouse, so I have lots of opportunities to take advantage of the wonderful surrounds there. As for the background you are right again. It did not look that prominent through the lens. I should have stepped ever so slightly to the right. Next time I'll get it though.

Dawn, Great minds think alike. As a matter of fact the first picture of this cloud that I posted is cropped exactly how you suggested. Check it out. It was posted 7/29/02 or you can just go to my images.

Chris, Thanks for the comment! I want to say that it was 250/F-5.6 but I took like 6 of these shots and (big mistake) I did not write them down. We were standing just south of a building in it's cast shadow at the time and that helped because it was so bright in the direct sun. I zoomed in about halfway to get all the rays I could. It was late in the afternoon and the reason this cloud is so low in the frame was to crop out the trees below.

Thank you Susan, I actually played with those boarders a few times to find what I liked. And yes I think presentation is a very vital part of any photographic/art work. Your comments are very appreciated. Deb

This is a great shot. I also enjoyed the shot you put on the forum. I am very interested in the technique of multiple exposures also at this time I am unable to make my AF camera do this. I would like to see more of your shots.
