Christopher, this is a very strong shot.
The dark space to the right really emphasizes his solitude, and the bloom adds a dreamy aspect to the image as well.

I remember the hula hoop craze from the late 50's. The angle of this shot is interesting. It shows the effort of the girl to keep the hoop turning, and most of the hoop.
